ABOUT ME

My name is Brian Caldera, and I am the founder of the BC Wellness Initiative. My road to starting this company has been far from linear. I graduated from Villanova University ('13) with a degree in Philosophy and received my J.D. from Brooklyn Law School ('16) prior to becoming a member of the New York State Bar. I then spent two years consulting on M&A deals at Ernst & Young. While extremely proud of my academic and professional accomplishments, I never paused to take stock in my physical and mental well-being.

I was a naturally gifted athlete growing up, so when I struggled to do a flight of stairs in my Brooklyn apartment due to my drastic weight gain, it was a big blow to my confidence and served as a wake up call. I began going back to the gym to exercise in 2016, but it wasn't until 2018 that it became a habit for me. In a span of a few short months, I was diagnosed with both clinical depression and an aneurysm in my carotid artery, just below the brain. While my doctors and talk therapy have played an immense role in my mental and physical health, exercise and nutrition became passions that have helped me in ways that I never could have imagined.

I pivoted into the fitness industry by becoming a Certified Personal Trainer in 2020, and a Sports Nutrition Specialist in 2022. This is my way of paying forward everything that exercise and nutrition have contributed to my overall health & wellness transformation. I believe in a truly personal  training and counseling approach because every client is unique. I put 100% of my effort into understanding and supporting you on your journey so you can create sustainable, life-long wellness habits.
